  • Are you tired of videos automatically playing when you go to certain webpages? This tutorial will explain how to block HTML5 video autoplay in the Firefox browser.

    To disable HTML5 video from autoplaying, go to Firefox Add-ons and download and install Disable HTML5 Autoplay. Once you install the add-on, you will need to restart your browser for it to work. This add-on works for most versions of Firefox. (The same add-on is also available for Chrome from the Chrome Web Store.)


    If this option fails in your version of Firefox, you will need to manually disable it by following these steps. 

    1. Type about:config in the browser's address bar and hit enter.

    3. Begin typing media in the search bar at the top until you find the preference media.autoplay.enabled.
