This article highlights Open Textbooks in use at UT, including links for obtaining and using them.
Open textbooks are scholarly, peer reviewed texts selected by the instructor for use in a course that are openly licensed. Because they are openly licensed, they are often free (but sometimes very low cost) for students to obtain and use. They are often digital, but can be printed, viewed in a number of ways and ordered as bound copies.
Introduction to Sociology
All sections of Introduction to Sociology courses here at UT use an Open Textbook largely edited and contributed to by UT professors. There are web and PDF versions available at the website for the textbook.
