This article explains the Student Preview mode in Blackboard.

The student preview mode allows professors to see and interact with their courses just as their students will. The student preview mode, allows professor to do the following:

  • Submit assignments
  • Take tests
  • Create blog and discussion posts
  • Create journal and wiki entries
  • View student tools, such as My Grades

To enter the student preview mode, click on the eyeball-looking icon as shown below:

Blackboard Menu with Student Preview Mode circled.

The student preview is more robust that the edit mode. The student preview allows professors to see student-only content, such as My Grades, which the edit mode does not.
